An A-rig day for sure
« on: April 06, 2012, 09:30:06 PM »
I took an old friend today on upper Bull Shoals.  We got there at noon and fished till 5:30.  We caught fish all day long.  We stopped when the total reached 100.

We caught 55 largemouth bass none of which were bragging fish but we caught 45 sandies.  We weighed 4 of the biggest ones.  One of them weighed just under 3 1/2 pounds and the other 3 topped the 4 # mark on my Boga.  Every fish was caught on an A-rig.  We were using small swim baits part of the time and slider grubs the rest of the time.

We were both worn slick by the time we got home.

Oh MY !  :o  You may have to register them a (or is it d ?) rigs. 100 fish in 5 hrs= 20 fish per hr.=1 fish every 3 minutes ?  Like I said Oh MY ! You may now relax for the rest of the season.
Bass don't eat what they don't see.

I took my neighbor today for what will be my last trip of the year.  We only fished the A-rig and wound up with 36 whites and 14 lmb.  We fished from noon till 5.  It wasn't quite as good as last trip but my neighbor has never been on anything like this in his life.

Now it is time to settle down and see how the blacks at Pomme de Terre like the A-rig.  OH by the way I found a spool of heavy duty stainless wire in the shed at our new farm.  I now have a life time supply of A-rig material. ;D ;D
