Bass Pro Shops spring 2013 Fishing Classic
« on: February 13, 2013, 06:21:37 PM »
I got the flyer today.  I looked all the way through it.  I never saw a thing that I want so I guess I'll miss the crowded conditions and go fishing. ;D

Finally got my flyer in the mail today. I saw a few things (inexpensive) that I want. I have a gift card so I won't spend as much out of pocket  ::)

Have a safe trip to Gainesville Steve.

Well ya.   Which pond do you call my favorite, Table Rock, Bull Shoals, Stockton or Pomme de Terre?

I was there on Friday night with my fishing partner. I bought only a few dollars worth of baits. Mostly things that I neede to replace. And I got a new rainsuit. It is the Goretex one that was $50 off each piece. Saw KVD, Fred Roumbanis, Tim Horton and JAcob Wheeler. KVD had his picture taken with me. When KVD was doing his seminar/demonstration at the fish tank he hooked a bass on his rattlebait. While everyone was laughing he said, "It's okay, I know a guy." Even funnier, he did it a second time but with a jerkbait. This time though the head BPS guy there got out his camera and KVD turned toward him with the bass held out towards the camera.

I went to one yesterday. It was a fun day and got a few new things to try out in Texas. Mostly 10"-13" worms and frog baits.

Going to try and get out next Saturday. Water still a bit cold so I'll stick to some jerkbaits and probably jigs.

Now let's see if i still remember how to fish....LOL. Just maybe actually catch something of decent size which I've yet to do here in Texas. There was a 20 pound Bass caught not too long ago somewhere in Ellis county(where I live is conisdered ellis county)....but they won't say where....and If I'm right it's a small man made pond(plenty of them here)....most of the time it's private...so no luck in me fishing that one.

I went right by BPS Nashville Saturday on my return from Richmond. I'm telling you there wasn't room for another vehicle anywhere, not in the overflow, the medians , anywhere ! It looked utterly chaotic. I don't understand it. I went in during Thanksgiving when my son was here and it was the same way. The only thing you can look at is people. It apparently is chic to be there during "promotions". I rarely notice any real bargains and with Academy right down the street, TW at my keyboard and making my own jigs BPS doesn't get too many of the few bones I have left.

Thanks! The pros that were there were all very friendly.

These two are with Tim Horton and Jacob Wheeler.
