Beginners Luck
« on: April 04, 2012, 10:10:29 PM »
The club I joined here is a nice bunch of guys. The first TX I weighed in one fish. I was on Guntersville and it stormed and a cold front blew through all weekend. I was overwhelmed. The second TX I didn't fish right here on Old Hickory because my boat insurance had lapsed. The third TX was on Percy Priest and I got skunked even though my co angler caught at least 10 bass and weighed in 3.

Well now the club has started this Wednesday night thing here at Old Hickory like a little jackpot or something and it doesn't count in the club. It's extracurricular I guess you could say. Tonight we fished from 5:30 - 8:00. I got one bite and it was good enough for big bass at 3.19 lbs.  I didn't get rich by any stretch but it was good to catch a fish amongst these guys. I don't expect this to be a habit of any sorts though. I think it is more along the lines of beginners luck.

Good job.   I much prefer fishing the night tournaments.   Around here there are about 4 a week one could fish.

Maybe that big bass was the kickstart you needed for the rest of the season  ;)

Gonna go out again this evening. I have located another location which is holding some good fish. I hope they cooperate. We'll see.
