Buzzard puke!!!!
« on: August 31, 2012, 07:26:21 AM »
I realize this sounds off topic but it is connected to bass fishing.  I camped out this week and fished at night during the coming BLUE MOON.  It has been so hot and dry that I haven't night fished this whole summer.

Fishing has been pretty good (I have caught 61 bass M-W nights).  Wednesday was my best with 26 bass 9 of which were nice keepers.

With Isaac coming I decided to bring the camper home a day early and left the boat in the campground.  My s-i-l wanted to go back with me go fishing and get the boat.  We used his truck.  We picked up the boat and headed to the ramp on the W side of the penninsula.  In the road was a dead deer with a buzzard eating it.  When we drove up to the carcass the buzzard flew straight up.  As we drove under it the thing puked all over his windshield.  It was so nasty and smelled so bad like rotting fish we headed for the nearest town to a car wash.

The puke was not deer after all.  It was fish remains with pieces of laterals with the bones undigested along with guts etc.  The puke as on his cab, on his end gate and the front of my boat.  We gave everything a good washing then hit the closest ramp.  It was so windy that we couldn't feel the bottom with our baits on any of the banks that had been producing.  We fished for about 4 hours catching only 4 fish with 2 of them keepers before heading back.

BTW: The inside of the truck stilled smelled like dead fish so we had to run with the windows open.

Well just about the time I get to thinking that I have seen or done it all……..
I have hit deer and had deer hit me; I have had a turkey take out a windshield; I have had fish jump in the boat; I have had a snake in the cab of my truck; but I must admit I have never had a buzzard puke on my truck. :o
