Scholarship Tournament
« on: June 09, 2014, 10:07:05 PM »
It's been a busy month or so for us including graduations, family functions, holidays, work and a recent funeral. Somewhere in there, a co-worker and i fished a scholarship tournament at lock 8 on the black warrior a week or so ago. We started out doing ok on frogs and buzzbaits but had livewell problems losing a few fish. Later in the day, pitching a lizard, i hung into what would have been a new personal best had i not broke off on it.  We got to see it 3 times real quick like then it sawwed my line on the last ditch dive it took on the laydown it had me wrapped in. It would have gone at least 6. With the other 4 1lb'ers we had that would have put us up the ladder alot...4th, 3rd maybe. 15 and change won it. 2nd was 11 and some i think and 3rd was 10.6 with 4th being 10.4. However, if ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a merrier christmas!  ;D

I Enjoyed every minute of it and hope to see the second annual tournament.

I lost a big one on the KY River several years ago in much the same way. I saw it once and it was huge. I came in second without that fish.
