Cedar Creek Lake
« on: June 23, 2014, 10:47:25 AM »
My old fishing partner and I went to Cedar Creek Lake yesterday and caught several bass. Keeper size on this lake is 20". While we did not catch any that size we caught several just under the limit. It was hot and humid, mostly sunny with light winds most of the day. We caught the majority of our bass on cedars in about seven feet of water. Most came on a worm. Here is a picture of me with one of my bass. You can see the type of trees we were fishing in the background.

Wow 20" is a big bass.  You would think it would be just the opposite to keep the ones below that.    Glad you got out and caught you some!

Jack, they are trying to make it a trophy bass lake. That is why the limit is 20" and you can only keep one per person.

I forgot to mention the water was very clear. I could see my bait at least five feet deep.

The grassy lake I fish in Indiana has an 18 limit which makes them about 3 lbs. 20 must be right at 4 lbs!
Did you try any swim baits?

Scott, my buddy tried a swim bait but did not get any bites. He did catch one in the morning on a crankbait. A few smacked at some topwaters but no hookups on those.

Nice pic Carter. Glad you had a good and safe outing. I'm still settling in here and I'm needing to get in some time on the water.
Bass don't eat what they don't see.

I did not try those Scott. I brought a limited amount of tackle to use for a short time.
