Fishing with Getfished
« on: January 28, 2015, 12:04:08 PM »
Steve met me at the cottage at Kenlake State Park Monday morning. We launched at the marina and started in Ledbetter Creek. No action. We went up the lake a ways and fished the LBL side. Nothing. We worked our way back down and I finally got two bites in Ledbetter. But no hookups. We fished out of Lake Barkley State Park the next day and had no luck. (Scott, we fished the same place where you caught your first smallmouth.) Even though we did not catch anything we still had a fun time. And yes, it was a little cold on the water.

It was cold, cloudy and windy but it was good to get out there. The water was in the very low 40s. Good thing I didn't fall in. I've sort of been wondering why I didn't try using a slow moving , wide wobbling crankbait like a wiggle wart. All the fish seemed to be on the bottom. I had some thermostat issues with the outboard and when I got home I swapped the port and starboard temp sensors. Next time out I'll be able to tell if it made any difference.
