Cant catch bass, so....
« on: March 16, 2012, 08:17:07 AM »
Well I have been four times now and havent caught a single bass, so I thought what the heck and took my flyrod to the pond.
The Shellcracker are bedding right now.    At least I got to feel a little pull on the line.   Caught a few small ones.

Nice pic Jack. I know what ya mean about the skunk. It's been brutal to me lately also. Got a Tx Sun. and the only fish I have found are 16 miles from takeoff. The place I'd druther fish is 16 miles the other direction. Lots of fish in between I spose. I may just fish right in the takeoff cove the whole day and save my gas money. Next week I will go get some specs for me and Rachel.

Well Jack you’re a couple up on me! A few of the guys at work have been out and have reported either a few small fish or some really nice sizes. I saw a picture of one that was caught Thursday morning and the picture weighed 5 pounds! It was a nice Bass! Most likely went around 8 or better but the guys didn’t have a scale with them so we will never know.
My department manager is taking vacation the so the rest of this month is out; but next month……
I am ready!

Steve, have you forgotten that I’m married????
The local cabinet maker is adding a wing to his house; it’s called the “Pondhopper Addition”. ::)

Then yesterday my twin 16 year old grandsons came over and we wiped out two large slabs of ribs.
Then we went to Wally World to get my fishing license and of course the boys needed one also; $60!
I had to buy some split rings and bell weights so I can try that J-jig or whatever it’s called setup.
And my boat and trailer renewal registrations came in the mail Saturday. Yep; I laughing all the way to the bank! :'(

They caught about 30, and most were bigger ones.  I think the majority were the females coming in to lay the eggs.

I had those two as big as my hand, three smaller ones and one 10" bass. Had another small bass and another shellcracker come off as i was lifting them up at the ramp, and a bunch more bites.... i assume smaller ones that couldn't quite get it all in their mouth.
