I still want to be a weather man
« on: December 18, 2012, 09:06:11 AM »
Last week the weatherman said calm winds.  To me that means jigs and tubes on the Stockton dam rip rap.  So off I went.  It was a spinnerbait or crankbait wind but the fish were about 20' deep.  I fished the entire length and only caught 5 bass.  4 of them were keepers but it was sooo hard to feel the bite.

Same old Same old weatherman said 6-7 mph winds, early clouds then clearing, temps 39 to 55.  WELL it misted rain all the way to the foggy lake.  The wind was NW at about 10 mph which translates to little boat control while sitting over small ledges in 30 fow trying to entice bites from reluctant crappie.

The temp was 39 but only got to 40.  We were dressed for the forcast but not the actual weather.  We stuck it out till 1:30 then gave up on two limits and went to the heater in my truck.  We wound up catching 51 fish but only 21 of the crappie and 1 of the walleye would keep.  I think the fall bite is close to over.

Nice to see you finally catching fish. ;D ;D

We actually had thunder and lightning here along with some occasional heavy downpours yesterday.  ::)

Bike ???? peddling or motor ???

I'd really like to see some thunder storms.  We are 13" behind for the year and I have some ponds that could really use the water not to mention the local lakes.  Table Rock is 10' low.
