Tater Sauce
« on: September 09, 2012, 07:54:19 PM »
Hey guys, do you make your own tarter sauce, or do you buy yours? I am interested in trying some different homemade tater sauces, so if you make your own, will you please post your recipe here?

Thanks!

I threw some together the other day for the first time without a recipe and it didn't turn out quite right.  :P

Don't make tarter sauce but the wife mixes a bit of mayo in her cocktail sauce for the shrimp.

Have not made any since I can't remember when but when I did I just used mayo and pickle relish.

My Dad would make a sauce every time we had fish. Equal parts of Mustard, Ketchup, and Mayonnaise; add Tabasco to taste. It should be pink in color when you have the consistency right.

here's one ...

My grandfather use to take mawmaw's version of red-eye gravy(more like salt pork red-eye gravy ;D), a tad of perked black coffee, a dash of homemade pepper sauce, and a dollop of french's mustard(roughly a teaspoon) and mix that up in a saucer and sop it up with the fish. I do not recollect if he actually had taste buds or not, but that's what he did when he ate fish  ;D. ( never tried it ;D)

I've had the K,M,M Hot sauce mix and have used it on several things along the way. If you use that mix and add a good dose of red pepper relish, it's not too bad basted onto a good homemade cheeseburger patty on the grill.
