Jigman, I have THE lure you should try
« on: November 23, 2013, 10:04:54 AM »
I was out on KY Lake Thursday and I was not having much luck catching black bass. None at all the whole day. But, and I think this will interest you, I caught a bunch of yellow bass. They were schooled up in the head of the creek. I caught them all on one lure. A Rapala Rippin' Rap, size 05, in chartreuse/green. I let the bait go to bottom then as I hopped it back to the boat, keeping contact with the bottom the whole way I would catch a yellow bass most every cast. I tossed them all back just in case you ever get here to fish for them so they would grow for you  :D So, if you don't have one of those lures you might want to get one and try it out.

That is a lot of fun when you get on fish like that.  It has been several months since I caught whites in any numbers.  Thanks for the info Carter.  I'll have to check them out next time I am at Bass Pro.

I haven't been for whites here since I got on a spinnerbait bite back in early Oct.
I litterly wore 4 white spinnerbaits out to the point that the wire broke at the R bend.

I was camped and only had 4 with me so I had to drive to a town about 30 miles away to get some replacements.
